I figured the stars aligned the day before thanksgiving in terms of having Emma experience her first solid food. She was 5 months old, started to be interested in food, and I would be roasting and pureeing sweet potatoes for dinner anyway.
The results actually were way better than expected. Set the bar low, then you will always be pleasantly surprised. Also, make sure baby has a bib.
But onward to Thanksgiving… Despite only having my father-in-law for dinner plus the 3 of us (and Emma obviously doesn’t count when it comes to consuming food), we couldn’t find anything smaller than a 16 lb turkey, and then of course we needed all the sides…. and appetizers… I did at least decide to push off making my dessert until tomorrow.
