One of the best things about daycare used to be the report cards I’d get at the end of the day that would say that she laughed with her BFF and played with toys. Then she graduated out of the “babies” class and into “wobblers” and the report cards changed to “Emma used her gross motor skills to build a volcano and paste red tissue paper on it to signify the lava.” Who do they think they are kidding… My 13 month old is not doing any of that! At the most she probably tried to eat the tissue paper. BUT last night she came home with her art from her “oceans” module, a red painted crab and this seal with stamps all over it. On one hand I feel bad for the teachers that have to try to get a bunch of one year olds to produce art and not eat the materials. On the other hand, the seal has now found its home adorning my office wall. Yay art!
