I wanted to eat at Arancino at The Kahala from before I moved back to Hawaii, after seeing countless pictures on my instagram fees (one of the first things I may have done after signing my Hawaii job offer contract was to start following Hawaii foodie instagrams). After moving my dad would rave about his new favorite restaurant and turns out it was the same Arancino.
For Valentine’s Day Dinner (which we actually went to on February 13th but the Restaurant had the same menu going for the entire weekend), you could choose to eat off of their regular menu or have their special V-Day option. We went with the latter.
There was classy bread…
Ostrica e Lime: goose point oyster, sevruga caviar, ocean water gelée, piccante olive oil pipette
Fonduta alla Valdostana: imported italian fontina fondue, locally grown sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, baked pane
Linguine alle Cozze: house made linguine, fresh saltspring island b.c. mussels, garlic pomodoro sauce
~ or ~
Risotto alla Milanese: saffron risotto, braised oxtail
Arista di Maiale: sous vide & grilled local shinsato center cut pork loin, lightly fried leek & lotus root
Mousse al Cioccolato: house made chocolate mousse & raspberry sorbetto
The results? Food 2/2 Musubis, Service 1/1 Musubi, Ambiance: 1/1 Musubi, Price to Portion: 1/1 Musubi (I mean the place isn’t cheap but totally worth a nice night out)
